Lay Disciple Community Meeting Held at Convocation

Ken Drummond, Aug 1, 312 Dwapara
More than 60 lay disciples gathered at a restaurant in the Bonaventure Hotel on Monday noon to discuss and listen to presentations on lay disciple communities. As far as we know this is the first large gathering of devotees for this purpose. The event was organized by Cheryl Woodard with help from a number of other devotees.

Presentations were made by Allen Smith, President of OPAL Community Land Trust of Orcas Island, WA; by Carol and Richard Armour of Song of the Morning Ranch and Clear Light Community in Illinois; by Stephen Wilkinson of Escondido, CA; and others.

After the presentations, the devotees enjoyed meals of cabo salads or veggie burgers and engaged in individual  discussions and exchange of emails and information.

Breakout sessions were planned for Tuesday, 9 a.m.  with Christine Ashley and the Prescott Arizona Project, on Wednesday 11 a.m.;  with Steve Wilkinson and Allen Smith, Project Design; and on Wednesday  3 p.m.  with Carol and Richard Armour, Song of the Morning. All the breakout sessions were planned to be held at Starbucks on the lobby level of the hotel.

Information from the meetings will be presented or linked to on this website as it is gathered and permissions acquired.

Cheryl On The Go

July 28, 312 Dwapara

Cheryl Woodard has spent several months traveling to Arizona and other places where she observed first-hand the various communities under development.

Upon her return to California she began organizing a community meeting to take place at the 2012 Convocation. This will help to connect the various devotees who already have active locations or who have ideas to get started. It should also connect devotees with communities and with others who are looking for communities.

See her Bulletin #4 where she talks about her trip.
